Going to court

Guide for 5-11 year olds

Guide for 12-17 year olds

Some of the things young people experiencing exploitation often say:

Waiting times can be too long for services or for a case to go to court if a young person decides to give evidence

Lots of professionals can end up involved and young people say they are asked to tell their story again and again. Sometimes professionals do not listen, make assumptions, or blame the young person for what has happened to them.

Young people want to know what is going to happen next, especially when they do share what has happened in their life.

What happened to a young person in their life does not define who they are or their potential.
